Mustangs are defeated by a late Sabercat surge

The SaberCats, now 4-0, kick off District 15-5A DI competition with a win, while the resilient Mustangs (2-2) find themselves 0-1 in league play.

Facing a 27-17 deficit with only 10 minutes on the clock, Edinburg Vela orchestrated a dramatic comeback. A pivotal moment came when tight end Noah Rocha capitalized on a fumble recovery, charging into the end zone to narrow the score. Subsequently, athlete Bernabe Gonzalez, a key player in the SaberCats' offensive arsenal, sealed the victory with a game-winning 29-yard run.
